I bought this to replace an nib that I didn’t like. This nib is perfect for almost anything I want to do. It’s quite a bit juicier than the nib, so there’s a bit more bleed through on copier paper, but it’s narrow enough to write on grid paper without loss of legibility. And the nib is almost as smooth as the nib on my wrist and the strap on Custom 823 nib.
If you want a smoother alternative to your VP’s nib, get a spare nib and swap it out as needed.

I dropped my fountain pen with the nib exposed and of course it fell nib first into the ground. Immediately it bent and so I purchased this one as a replacement. Works just as well as the original one, (it shouldSince it's made by Pilot exactly for this pen), and I amVery happy with it. An expensive error to make, I will try to be more careful in the future.

Great quality that you'd expect however be aware the nibs with the vanishing point seem to be slightly broader than other pilot pens I have in my collection.

I had a medium- it was too broad. The idea of the new one costing almost $100.00 was a bit much! I do like the point now! Should have gotten it on my original purchase..
