Writes great with the pens I tried with it. Nice blue ink with a little gray (?) in it.

It looks pretty dark with an extra-fine and fine nib, more so than a swatch of it - of course. Not as blue as Rue de la Verrerie.

A very good deep blue black ink

A very good deep blue black ink. -with perhaps a bit of purple undertone too. I have this in a Lamy 2000 with a rather fat medium nib. This has been my go to blue for awhile. It’s a beautiful blue with authority.

I might be swapping it into my Pilot Custom 823 which has a much finer writing medium. then go with the Rue de Verrerier in the Lamy, it’s a more open blue by comparison. J.Herbin does a nice job with blue inks and the two mentioned are my favorites. They compliment each other nicely.

This ink despite being rather saturated and dark, I don’t see any issue with bleeding through on either Midori or Clairefontaine. A great blue a strong value

Beautiful blue/black ink

I have so much ink that sometimes I forget what I have! I rediscovered this ink in my collection and pulled it out to use in my Diplomat Aero Midnight Blue pen. Wow!! It's a lovely blue/black or very dark blue. It's wetter than average and flows really well. It doesn't really shade, but as it is a dark blue, that is to be expected. It's drying time is average on Rhodia paper. And the price is great. Great ink!!!

Herbin Bleu Des Profondeurs is a great deep blue color that works perfectly in professional settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which pens can accept this ink? 8EDA1617-F73A-4DAF-8245-6D2BF4ABEB7B

Any of these fountain pens will work with bottled ink. Typically, as long as the pen can be filled with a converter, has a built-in filling mechanism like a piston, or can be eyedropper-filled, it can accept bottled ink. You can also refill an empty ink cartridge from bottled ink using an ink syringe.
